What they are

Poured concrete worktops are cast in place or pre-cast off-site from cement, aggregate and reinforcement, then ground and sealed. Quartz is engineered stone, crushed natural quartz bound with resin under heat and pressure, including designs specifically created to replicate concrete’s calm, architectural look.

Poured concrete is genuinely prone to hairline cracking as it cures and settles, and further cracking can develop over time from movement in the substrate below. Quartz is manufactured under controlled pressure to a consistent, dense specification and doesn’t share this vulnerability.
