The Look
Imperial Black is one of the few worktops in the range that genuinely transforms a kitchen. Against white or pale cabinetry it creates dramatic high-contrast scenes; against deep cabinetry it tonally extends the colour palette. The subtle white veining stops the surface from feeling flat, adding architectural detail without lightening the overall impression.
Best for
- White and pale handle-less kitchens: the contrast becomes the design feature.
- Monochrome and black-and-brass schemes: picks up brass and chrome details.
- Statement islands and waterfall ends: the deep tone is at its most powerful as a feature.
- Industrial and architectural interiors: reads alongside exposed concrete and metalwork.
Care
Imperial Black is non-porous like all Expression Quartz worktops. Day-to-day care needs nothing more than warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Note that dark worktops show water marks and fingerprints more readily than light ones, so regular wiping is recommended. Frequently asked questions
What thickness is Imperial Black available in?
Standard slab thicknesses are 20 mm and 30 mm. Slab size is 3200 × 1600 mm.
Is Imperial Black heat resistant?
It handles moderate heat well, but the resin matrix can scorch or discolour under sudden extreme heat. Always use a trivet for cookware taken directly from a hob, oven or grill.
Does Imperial Black stain?
In normal use, no. The surface is non-porous, so liquids wipe straight off. Dark surfaces show water marks more visibly, buff dry with a soft cloth for the cleanest finish.
Can Imperial Black be used for splashbacks and islands?
Yes. Imperial Black is particularly well suited to statement islands and full-height splashbacks where the dramatic colour can be appreciated.
Does Imperial Black come with a warranty?
Yes. Every Expression Quartz worktop is covered by a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty. See our warranty page for full terms.
Where is Imperial Black made?
Imperial Black is produced at our Breton-equipped factory in A Coruña, Spain, with international shipping to the UK, Europe and the UAE.
