The Look
Calacatta Gold is the most instantly recognisable marble-effect design in the range. The veining is thick, confident and unmistakably Calacatta-style, deep gold notes warmed by softer grey. It works best on islands and full-height splashbacks where the patterning can be appreciated as a single composition. Natural Calacatta marble is fragile and very expensive; this is the look with none of the drawbacks.
Best for
- Statement kitchen islands: the bold veining is at its best as a feature.
- Navy or dark green cabinetry: the gold-and-white palette lifts dark colours.
- Traditional Shaker and grand classical kitchens: the iconic Calacatta look fits both periods.
- Brushed brass ironmongery: reinforces the gold tones in the veining.
Care
Calacatta Gold is non-porous like all Expression Quartz worktops. Day-to-day care needs nothing more than warm soapy water and a soft cloth. For stain, heat and cleaner guidance, see our full care and maintenance guide.
Frequently asked questions
What thickness is Calacatta Gold available in?
Standard slab thicknesses are 20 mm and 30 mm. Slab size is 3200 × 1600 mm.
Is Calacatta Gold heat resistant?
It handles moderate heat well, but the resin matrix can scorch or discolour under sudden extreme heat. Always use a trivet for cookware taken directly from a hob, oven or grill.
Does Calacatta Gold stain?
In normal use, no. The surface is non-porous, so liquids wipe straight off. For stubborn dried marks, use Bar Keeper’s Friend Power Cream as detailed in our care guide.
Can Calacatta Gold be used for splashbacks and islands?
Yes. Calacatta Gold is particularly well suited to statement islands and full-height splashbacks where the bold veining can be appreciated.
Does Calacatta Gold come with a warranty?
Yes. Every Expression Quartz worktop is covered by a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty. See our warranty page for full terms.
Where is Calacatta Gold made?
Calacatta Gold is produced at our Breton-equipped factory in A Coruña, Spain, with international shipping to the UK, Europe and the UAE.
